Adrienne Leinwand Maslin visited CSB. Mrs. Maslin is an author who talked about her new book New Dog in School.
This book came with a lot of emotions. It talks about her dog going to school and being harassed for being new. The old dogs would always bother her and make her do things to be a part of them. Going to the end of the story, the old dogs made her slide down a slide, but little did she know there was a pool of water at the end of the slide. After that happened, the dog stood up for herself and told the other dogs that she doesn’t want to be a part of them, she doesn’t want to be mean like them, and so at the end of the book the dog wakes up, and it was a dream.
The dog was scared to go to school, but after she went to school, it turn out that everyone was nice and excited to meet her.
The moral of the story is not to try to fit in and be your own person.
